About Us

The Fire & Services Namakkal Division plays a vital role in the area of fire fighting and fire prevention. Apart from fire fighting , department also undertakes RESCUE ACTIVITIES and has saved hundreds of people, marooned in floods and caught in the debris of fallen buildings, road accidents and other natural and man-made disasters.

Besides fire fighting and rescue operations, the Fire Service has statutory, regulatory and advisory functions also. Advisory functions relate to educating society on fire protection measures and helping them. The statutory function is that of inspecting various premises to ensure that they conform to regulations in various Acts and Rules for fire safety.

Ambulance services is available in Kolli Hills Fire rescue Station. The sick and injured are swiftly removed to hospitals for immediate medical aid at reasonable hire charges. The hire charges are collected with reference to the distance covered by the Ambulances.

Fire Service vehicles are utilised for bandobust and standby arrangements during festivals and large gatherings.

APPLICATION FOR A FIRE LICENSE

Application for a Fire License should be made to the Divisional Fire Officer, located in the Head Quarters of every district in the prescribed format. The forms are available in all the Fire Stations in the State and in the Divisional Offices. The filled in application form may be given at the nearest Fire station or may also be sent directly to the Divisional Fire Officer, who is stationed at every District Head Quarters. The Fire License will be issued by the Divisional FIre Officer to the application direct within 15 days from the date of presenting the application wither at the Fire Station or at the Divisional Fire Office.

FIRE OCCURRENCE CERTIFICATE

Fire Service Department issues Fire Occurrence Certificate about a fire incident, to the insurance companies for the settlement of insurance claims. The power to issue Fire Occurrence Certificates has been delegated to the Divisional Fire Officers. The application will be made by the insurance company directly to the Divisional Fire Officer, who will issue the certificate directly to the insurance company.

No fee is charged for this service.

INSPECTION SERVICES

The Tamilnadu Fire Service undertakes inspection of Buildings, both Government and Private to checkup the fire fighting arrangements and to suggest fire fighting measures and fire safety. It also undertakes inspection of Cinema Halls in the District and heads a committee of officials drawn from several departments for this purpose.
